robotics product manager
Mundane Systems
Start Date: ASAP
About Us
Mundane is a venture-backed, seed-stage robotics and embodied AI company founded by Stanford researchers and builders. We are deploying large fleets of humanoid robots into real-world commercial environments to perform high-volume, repetitive tasks.
Our work spans the full hardware and software stack: electromechanical systems, actuation, embedded firmware, real-time controls, perception, autonomy, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale robot learning. By tightly integrating hardware development with data collection and learning systems, we are building the foundation for scalable embodied intelligence in the physical world.
We are a fast-moving, execution-focused team operating at the intersection of advanced robotics engineering and frontier AI.
About the Role
As a Robotics Product Manager, you will drive coordination across the full hardware and software stack — from mechanical and electrical design through embedded systems, controls, autonomy, and robot learning.
You will align complex, interdependent programs: ensuring hardware architecture decisions support control performance, integrating embedded systems with higher-level autonomy, and coordinating hardware builds with software releases and ML-enabled deployment milestones.
This is a deeply technical, high-ownership role for someone who understands what it takes to ship complex robotic systems. You will build structured execution frameworks across mechanical engineering, firmware, real-time controls, perception, and learning-based systems — keeping system-level milestones on track as we scale from prototype to production fleet.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional programs spanning mechanical design, actuation, embedded systems, controls, autonomy, software infrastructure, and robot learning.
- Build and maintain integrated hardware–software–ML roadmaps with clear milestones, critical paths, and dependency tracking.
- Align hardware development cycles (actuators, joints, power electronics, safety systems) with software releases and ML integration timelines.
- Drive system-level integration across control loops, perception, autonomy, and fleet infrastructure.
- Coordinate fleet releases to ensure reliability, safety, and production readiness in real-world deployments.
- Identify cross-disciplinary risks early (mechanical constraints, control instability, compute limitations, sim-to-real gaps) and drive mitigation plans.
- Establish scalable execution processes as we expand our humanoid fleet and embodied AI capabilities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management within robotics or complex electromechanical systems.
- Demonstrated success coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams across hardware and software domains.
- Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles and software release processes.
- Experience working on robotic manipulation platforms or collaborative robotic arms (e.g., prior engineering leadership on a cobot arm).
- Familiarity with real-time systems, motion control, embedded systems, and ML-enabled products.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills in fast-paced, ambiguity-heavy environments.
Bonus
- Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or AI-driven hardware products.
- Experience working at the intersection of hardware platforms and machine learning systems.
- Exposure to robot learning, imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or embodied AI.
- Experience supporting deployed hardware or fleet-scale systems in production.
What You’ll Get
- Ownership of mission-critical, cross-company programs central to humanoid robot deployment.
- Direct exposure across mechanical engineering, controls, embedded systems, autonomy, ML, and fleet operations.
- Early equity with meaningful upside in a venture-backed robotics company.
- A foundational role in scaling embodied intelligence from prototype to production.
Perks: Competitive salary + equity, flexible PTO, legendary merch, coffee, robots, sauna & cold plunge (pending).
