Sales Engineer

The Role

We're looking for founding Sales Engineers who can prove that Rowspace works — not in the abstract, but on a prospect's actual data, in their actual workflows. That means taking messy PDFs, Excel models, and SharePoint docs from real financial services firms and showing — live — how Rowspace makes them actually useful. You'll partner with AEs to lead technical discovery, own the POC, and remove the blockers between a skeptical prospect and a signed contract. This is a builder's role — you'll be building, demoing, and iterating alongside our founders and engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technical discovery — map customer workflows, data sources, and pain points to the platform.

  • Demo on real data — messy PDFs, Excel models, internal docs. Live, in front of skeptical finance audiences.

  • Own the technical win — manage POV/POC, handle security and compliance, be the primary technical contact.

  • Partner with AEs on deal strategy — understand how prospects invest, what they care about, and position Rowspace against how they actually work.

  • Work with AI Deployment Managers and Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure a smooth handoff from POC to production.

  • Relay signal back to product and engineering — retrieval quality, LLM performance, what to build next.

What You Have

  • 2–4+ years in technical pre-sales (SE, Solutions Architecture) or financial engineering/data science.

  • Technically fluent — you understand how data moves through a system and can troubleshoot live when a demo goes sideways.

  • Comfortable explaining AI concepts (RAG, embeddings, unstructured data) to non-technical audiences in plain language.

  • Demo craft — you turn messy financial data into a compelling story about what's possible.

  • High agency — you figure things out and don't wait to be told what to do.

  • Strong communicator — you hold your own with a CTO, a portfolio manager, or both at the same time.

  • Familiarity with financial services is a plus.
